Got a date, or need to have your picture taken tomorrow? Got one of those huge nasty zits on your face? Dont feel alone cause Ive been there and done that more than once myself and so have countless others. Its not the end of the world, as a matter of fact you could be zit-free by tomorrow;o)! There are ways to get rid of your zits fast!
Here are three tried and proven ways to clear up you pimples in a short amount of time so you can enjoy that date, or not have to have your pictures touched-up!
Everyone is different, and these techniques may not work for everyone, you really need to try different things out and stick to what works the best for you. Also some cases of acne, and the resulting zits can be so severe that a doctor needs to be consulted, or excessive skin damage and scaring could result.
These methods Im going to share with you are really for trying to get rid of that one big, nasty zit on your face fast…like, by tomorrow maybe? Anyway check it out and see if these techniques will work for you:
1. Place a small dab of toothpaste on the zit (use the paste kind, not the jell) leave it on overnight, it should dry (which will help to dry the zit out.) The next morning heat a towel in hot water (as hot as you can stand) and place it on the zit, if there is a whitehead, the hot towel should be applied until the pore opens up and you can gently remove the pus (dont squeeze the zit, instead push down on the skin on both sides of it.) Now gently wash the affected area with warm soapy water. Thats it! Hopefully that gross zit will be a thing of your past!
2. In a bowl mix a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon together, and apply to the zit, scrubbing the area gently. Leave it on overnight, and the next morning apply the wet heated towel (as hot as you can stand) to soften the skin and bring the zit to a head if its to that stage of development. Remove the pus (if present) by lancing the whitehead with a sterile needle and pushing down on the skin beside the zit (dont squeeze it very hard, or you can spread the infection, and make things worse.)
3. Gently wash the zit with warm water and acne soap (or any mild soap will do.) Bring a pan of water to a boil on the stove, and add about ten drops of tea tree oil to it. Let cool until you are able to wet a towel and apply it to the affected area, continue doing this until the zit develops a whitehead. Sterilize a needle and lance the whitehead by piercing the very center of the whitehead, then push down on the skin on all sides of the zit to remove the pus, dont squeeze the zit hard or you could again, make things worse. Wash again with warm water and soap and gently pad dry with a towel.
Give these methods a try and see if you cant zap your zits fast! Good luck with your date, photo op or whatever it is you got going on.

Back to School With Clear Skin

Backpack? Check. Notebooks? Check. Ink-pens? Check. Clear Skin? Mommmm!
If you are anything like three-fourths of the parents Harris Interactive for the American Counseling Association recently surveyed, you are actively involved in helping your teenager treat acne.
While getting everything in order for back to school adds enough stress, the last thing your teen may want to deal with is a pimply face. So how can you send Mr. or Miss But I have to have it now! off to school with no fuss and no zits?
Even though little Caitlins initial reaction may be to bolt for the strongest acne soap she can find, this is not the way to go. As dermatologist Alanna F. Bree, MD at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, warns, many of the zealous measures people take can make the blemishes worse.
Then again, after visiting a dermatologist to determine if acne prescriptions like tretinoin (Retin-A), antibiotics or isotretinoin are in order, it will take weeks before your teen sees a marked improvement in their skins condition.
Next, perhaps a laser visit may zap the zits away. Yet, Jerome Garden, MD, of the department of dermatology at Northwestern University in Chicago advises, These are highly expensive cash procedures requiring multiple visits to the office.
Dr. Spencer added, I think light-based therapy for acne represents one more tool in the tool chest, but its quite unreasonable for it to be the first thing that pops into your head.
Your best bet for preventative acne measures can start in your own home. Author of Acne Messages: Crack the Code of Your Zits and Say Goodbye to Acne, Naweko San-Joyz, offers three steps to help your teenager get clearer skin fast.
First, after gently cleansing the face, swipe it with a cotton-ball drenched in apple-cider vinegar to help remove excess fatty acid deposits that may provoke zits.
Second, cook a bowl of raw (not instant) oatmeal and let it cool. Mix the oatmeal with one teaspoon of honey and then apply it to the face as a mask for 15-20 minutes, then rinse it off. The mask helps dry up existing zits, exfoliate the skin and reduce overpopulation by p. acnes bacteria.
Third, San-Joyz suggests blending a smoothie of fresh carrots, celery, pineapple and a teaspoon of wheat germ. The nutrients served up in this cocktail help compensate for shortages in vitamins A, B, C and E and the mineral zinc that can sometimes trigger acne.
As the first and final stand against teenage acne, dermatologist Dr. Alan Rockoff Brooklines offers this encouragement, Once you rule out conditions that require urgent intervention (pretty easy in dermatology), often the best thing is to relax, and wait.
For now, give your teenager the assurance that the acne can improve after de-stressing and if that fails, give you local dermatologist a ring.

Acne can be a distressing ailment. It can completely ruin a date or job interview through its affect on our sense of self. Acne is hard to hide because its usual position is prominently on our face. We can find some comfort in knowing that it is the most common skin condition on earth.
Acne usually occurs when our sebaceous glands become inflamed and are infected with a bacterium: (propionibacterium acne). The sebaceous gland secretes our natural moisturiser; sebum. It coats the hair surface, prevents excessive evaporation of water and keeps the skin soft.
The bacterium that causes acne is which is present in everyone

Acne – What it is and What You Should Know
Author: MD Stacener

Acne – it’s enough to send people running to their doctors and in desperation undergoing surgeries that may not always be wise and can cost a fortune. Before you do anything, you need to know what acne is.
Puberty is often blamed for acne and while hormones related to puberty are certainly one reason for acne to occur, it’s not the only reason. There are many others. By taking the time to understand other reasons why you might experience acne you will be in a better position to determine what you should do about that acne.
While we often think of acne is little more than an annoying zit what it really is is an infection of the skin. This happens when bacteria gets into the pores and then breeds. This in turn aggravates the skin and causes the formation of what we’ve come to call the dreaded zit or acne.
Bacteria causes more oil to be produced and then the bacteria hides in that oil and things go from bad to worth. While this is the most common cause of acne, it’s not the only one. One way to reduce the risk of this bacteria turning into zits is by keeping your face properly cleaned.
Exfoliating is also good because it removes the dead skin that bacteria can otherwise feed on. Don’t exfoliate too often or you will cause damage to the skins surface and that could cause permanent damage.
While there is no direct link between eating unhealthy food and it causing acne, there is a direct link between eating healthy food and reducing the development of acne, so heat healthy and drink plenty of water.
Eating poorly lowers the body’s ability to reduce your immune system and that leads to excessive bacteria and the development of acne. Water helps to keep the skin hydrated and move bacteria along.
If you have never had acne and you now find yourself suffering from it you need to consider what has changed in your life. Teens find themselves with hormones raging and it can often be the underlying cause in that age bracket. As adults’ causes change. Women might find they break out during their monthly periods, while men might find they break out if they sweat heavily and are not wearing clothes that breathe.
There are many over the counter products that you can try. Don’t give up. If one doesn’t worth then you can try another. If OTC products aren’t working then make an appointment with your dermatologist.
A dermatologist might prescribe a medication or they might choose to use laser therapy or light therapy. There are many ways to rid your body of acne so don’t think for a minute that you must live with acne. Acne is not a life sentence unless you make it so. Take time to find a solution that work and rid yourself of acne forever. No more waking up dreading those terrible zits.
