Getting rid of acne can be troublesome process. Especially for teenagers, fighting acne can be a never ending battle because you cant control the causes of it. You simply have to wait for your hormones to rebalance themselves. For adult acne you can possibly stop acne by removing some of the causes, chief among them being too much stress and applying too much or the wrong makeup. Whatever kind of acne you have, here are a few tips to keep your complexion clean and clear.

First, you should wash your face two times a day. Depending on the type of skin you have this might be enough or you might need to wash your face a third time. Be careful not to wash your face too much and dry out your skin however. This can result in you body producing more oil on your face to keep it moisturized, which means you have to wash your face more and starts a vicious cycle you cant win. Also try to exfoliate once a week. This will remove the dead skin cells from your face and deep clean your pores. In addition to helping prevent acne it will also give your face a cleaner, more even tone.

Second, make sure you drink lots of water and maintain a healthy diet. Drinking eight to twelve glasses of water a day is good for both your complexion and overall health. The water makes sure your body runs at its optimum level and helps transport toxins out of your system. A healthy diet with a lot of raw, fresh fruits and vegetables is also important. While there hasnt been any scientific proof of greasy foods directly causing acne, a good diet is good for your overall health and will boost your immune system. The boost your immune system gets will help your body fight the bacteria and infections that cause troublesome blemishes and whiteheads.

Finally, make a visit to your dermatologist and discuss the problem with him. More often than not, he will be able to recommend some treatments that will work for your skin type. He can also prescribe many different stronger medications to fight your acne that arent available over the counter. These can be both soaps that will help prevent your acne and medications you put directly on blemishes to shorten the amount of time that theyre on your face.

There are many different steps you can take to fight acne. Removing the oils from your face by washing it, keeping a healthy diet, drinking lots of water, and talking with your dermatologist will get you on the road to curing your acne problem in no time.
